Welcome to BasedTasks (the "App"), accessible at https://basedtasks.netlify.app/. I, Ocean Bennett, am committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use my App. Please read this privacy policy carefully. COLLECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION

Data Stored Locally

BasedTasks is designed to store all your personal data, including but not limited to your tasks, notes, water intake logs, profile names, and settings (collectively, "User Data"), directly in your web browser's local storage on your device. I do not transmit this User Data to my servers or any third-party servers. This means your User Data remains on your computer and under your control.

If you clear your browser's cache or site data for this App, your User Data will be permanently erased.

Usage Data

I may automatically collect information about your device and how you access and use the App ("Usage Data"). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol address (e.g., IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of my App that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data. This data is primarily used to maintain the quality of the service and to provide general statistics regarding use of the BasedTasks App.

USE OF YOUR INFORMATION

Having accurate information permits me to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, I may use information collected about you via the App to:

• Operate and maintain the App.
• Manage your profiles and personalize your experience.
• Enable user-to-user communications (if applicable in the future).
• Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve your experience with the App.

DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

As your User Data (tasks, notes, etc.) is stored locally on your device, I do not have access to it and therefore cannot disclose it to any third parties.

• By Law or to Protect Rights: If I believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of my policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, I may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation.
• Third-Party Service Providers: I may share your information with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents who perform services for me or on my behalf and require access to such information to do that work (e.g., website hosting, data analysis). These third parties are obligated to protect your information.

ADVERTISING – GOOGLE ADSENSE

I use Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"), to serve ads when you visit the App. Google may use cookies or unique device identifiers, in combination with their own data, to show you ads based on your visit to my App and other sites on the Internet.

• Cookies: Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
• Opting Out: Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices.
